I don't think there is a reason to be concerned about Phishing virus detected in your mailbox. Phishing is usually an email that tricks a user to submit his/her personal details into a bogus webpage. So this virus can't infect your computer automatically, you would need to actually visit a webpage and submit your personal info mahually for any harm to be done.

Aren't there keyloggers that are phishing too or is that something different? I've tried to find more info on HTML.Phishing.Bank-292
HTML.Phishing.Bank-1 but evidently Mcafee, Symantec, Trend Micro, know nothing about them yet or call them by another name. I also had HTML.Phishing.Bank-168 but it was attached to my junk mail folder. I scanned the junk mail folder seperately using delete infected files option. The next time I used my email program it had replaced the old junk mail folder with a new one, no infections present. I think I will save important information in the inbox to text files scan them, and perform the same scan on the inbox as I did with the junk mail. I'd really like to find people who are writing viruses and publicly flog them, maybe cut of some fingers like some cultures do with thieves. They really are thieves. They steal our personal info, identities, render our computers useless, steal our time, and sabotage our creative efforts! |

Please report phishing emails or files downloaded from phishing web sites that ClamWin does not detect to Clam AV at https://www.clamav.net/sendvirus/ on the web. That is where you upload the file and tell Clam if any other AVs (on Jotti or VirusTotal) detect it. ClamWin uses the scanning engine and signature database from Clam AV, so you will be helping to make Clam and ClamWin better.

Hi,
I have clamwin installed on a server. I have disabled the email scan component of it from the console. But when I log in under a different username, the default settings are present. Is there a way of changing these settings for all users? _______________________________ sofi |

Unfortunately, ClamWin does not offer a business or server edition, so you will have to set this for each computer manually.
I have made the recommendation, in the past, to have support for businesses and servers for, at least, a small number of computers. Hopefully the developers will consider this when 1.0 comes out. |

Perhaps ClamWin could provide support for network use if networks using ClamWin would support ClamWin development in some way--time, advice, money... Most software used on networks costs money to purchase. Most of the free AVs provided by commercial AVs do not allow free network use.
At one time Cisco used Clam AV on hundreds of machines but did not provide a penny to support it. The Clam AV project was just about ready to fold when Sourcefire bought it. Then Cisco bought Sourcefire, including the Clam AV project. Ironic, isn't it? Regards, |
