Please use "Remove Infected Files" very cautiosly as it may remove the whole file when a virus is found in a single message. If you configure ClamWin to quarantine infected files, then you should be able to restore the files from quarantine.
To restroe files form quarantine check the scanning report, look for where ClamWin moved the files to quarantine, it should have the compete path of where the file was originally at in there too. Then copy the files back. However if you configure it to remove the only option is to use file recovery software and try to restore the deleted files. It may not always be successfull though, depending on whether or not the disk space occupied by the deleted file has been overwritten. There is a free data recovery utility: PC INSPECTOR File Recovery: https://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/download.htm www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/download.htm |

Hi
I have downlaoded the latest clamwin and installed and scanned my PC. I have selected the option to quarantine files to the quarantine folder. When it quarantined, the files were split and a smaller in size. Is there a way to restore the quarantine files. Im sure you cant just move the files back to the original folder. Some files are complete size but others have been split. |

I doubt that calmwin split quarantined files in parts, it uses simple copy operation to quarantine the files. |

In the future could Clam be made smart enough to realize that it is canning a MBX file with encoded attachments and have it just move or remove the attachment and not the entire MBX file?
this would be everyone's benifit. |

if you set Clamwin to quarantine infected files then it can be found in the quarantine folder. Look in clamwin settings for the folder path.

Thanks. Unfortunately, and unbeknown to me, the setting was set at Remove. The quarantine folder is empty. Is there a way to retrieve removed files? I checked the file retriever website mentioned in this string but it was almost entirely written in German so I did not proceed with it unless someone can really recommend it. Is there another program folks can recommend?
