I'm using clamwin portable to give to our employees.

But the program doesn't encourage the user to update the AV database before scanning and Users being Users forget to do this.

I'm really weary of telling them to do a update first! I can't always be there...

Is there a someway to make ClamWin do an update itself when run?

not at the moment, but we will add a warning if the database is older than 1 week to the next release.

That's a real shame. You mean the current version gives no warning at all! wow.

Because it makes it a real security risk for normal non-tech users to use atm.

Clamwin (non Portable) is configured to download the db daily so there is no strong security risk. Please note that Portable Clamwin is maintained by another unrelated developer.

The warning will be older than 3 days. the release is this weekend.

not in Portable Clamwin as clamwin scheduler is not running in the portable version
