When will it work again?

Clam AV has been upgrading and compacting its signature database, but it is now finished. Updates should be working now after being down for several days.

Otherwise I saw that the ClamAV latest version is 0.99.1, but the ClamWin is yet 0.99, no new version. Is it possible that cause the problem?

No, I don't think that is the problem. Version .99 is the latest ClamWin version--it has yet to get a release for version .99.1.

There may be a problem with your mirror. Try it again manually a few times and see if it updates okay. If that doesn't work, then set ClamWin for hourly updates and see if it updates okay after a couple of hours. My update after they changed the submission interface didn't seem to work for me manually, but it updated after I just let it update hourly as set. It is working okay now.

Good! Clam AV is supposed to have a more efficient signature update system now, so updates should not take as long as they have in the past, and we ClamWin users will benefit.

Hi, i can't download virus database updates. I'he uninstall and reinstall ClamWin (0.99) many times.

Clam AV has had problems with its database for weeks now. It is not releasing very many database updates, and the signatures it does release seem to favor Linux viruses instead of the Windows virus signatures that ClamWin needs. My ClamWin About screen shows main DB is 57 and daily DB is 21488 with a last update of April 7. If you show this, you are up to date--just set ClamWin for automatic updates and don't worry about it. You might also run Clam Sentinel--it will detect many Windows viruses without needing a ClamWin signature.

Have there been any updates from ClamWin regarding this issue?

I just did a fresh install of Portable Apps (including ClamWin Antivirus) on a USB flash drive about a week ago, and ClamWin has been unable to download and install a Virus Database, rendering it useless. It doesn't matter how many times I try, it can never download and install the Database.

The Clam AV project has been preparing signature updates for over a week now, and ClamWin users are receiving them. Evidently they are not preparing many of them, but they are available. Make sure you have ClamWin set for hourly signature updates.

By the way, you should be using a real-time antivirus program with ClamWin as a backup scanner for best protection.

And Jimminy Christmas, ClamWin, could your server push the Database down any slower?

Oh, and GuitarBob, I use ClamWin only on my USB Flash Drives as a secondary AV program.

The portable version of ClamWin is maintained by Portable Apps. It is modified differently then ClamWin for portable use. If you are having issues with the portable version, you will need to bring that up to the person managing it on Portable Apps.
