clamav uses zziplib to scan zips, there are no asm optimizations (only few optimizations in zlib).
Archive scan is in any case slow ![]() alch I think you may add an option to pass or not --show-progress in next release, the output in clamwin windows should work in both cases. |

1) To prevent every filename's scan progress I put the text
"--quiet" into setups advanced tab for clamscan options. My testing scan then ran faster. Still looking for a way to turn off the left hand graphic. 2) Please also note that when an infected file is found within a zip, it does not report which file is suspect....I have not found a good work around for this. I have had to unzip to a temp directory and re-run clamav against that directory. 3) This issue has been resolved, see the new clamwin 88.1.1 patch for a fix. I have investigated the open source asm zip libraries, they do exist, the issue would be on of integration. I might investigate more. Thanks everyone for all the help. Regards, |
