Error in updating database manually

Hello,

am new here. can anyone help me regarding my minor prob in updating my virus data base. i updated it yesterday manually after pasting it to the path where i should paste it and run virus scan, the error appears. there's an error saying about MD5. and clamwin did not scan my pc at all. for now, i just uninstall and reinstall clamwin and not updating it. i dont have internet connection for now. so that i just manually updating my AV.

pls help.

Could you paste a copy of the error message you are getting to a new post here? It may enable someone to help with a solution.

i already reinstall it yesterday since it did not scan my pc at all. Sad unfortunately, i dont have the copy of the error but am pretty sure its about MD5 error. it happens after pasting the latest updates from clamav database.

Make sure you are running the latest version of ClamWin--0.90.1.1.

There are several signature databases now--a monthly database and several types of daily databases. The regular downloaded update takes care of all of them. The instructions for a manual update might not be current. I believe one of the daily updates is composed of MD5 signatures. If ClamWin refuses to scan, it's probably because it's missing the database(s). I'm not sure what to tell you to do if you can't access the Web to do the signature updates.

I guess you could have someone with Web access update their computer and then copy the database files to your machine. For a Win XP machine, the signature databases on on your computer at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\db. There is a subfolder for the several daily databases.
