database.clamwin.net -> unavailable

Hi,

Updating the virus database is impossible. database.clamwin.net is unreachable. Update service returns DNS error. Pinging the same url from any computer returns no reply and no IP address. What's wrong?
(automatic updates are enabled in ClamWin)

Automatic update feature seems to work again. So: problem solved.

Are you sure you have checked to allow automatic updates in the Internet Updates tab? Also, fill in the proxy information if you are using a proxy to connect.

Yes, I have enabled automatic updates and my download site is set to database.clamav.net.
But I'm not sure if I'm connecting with a proxy or DNS. How do I find it out?
And if it's a proxy, how do I find the proxy information?

If you are using a proxy, you would probably know about it. You would be using a server and probably have a username and password to get on the internet (this doesn't apply if you use a web service providers). This doesn't apply to most inidividual users. ClamWin has a proxy configuration tab where you can enter in this information. If this does apply to you, ask your IT/computer person.

What is your operating system and what is your Clamwin verson? The current version is .94.1. Some people have been having problems getting signatures after updating their Windows 98 systems from version .94.0 to version .94.1. They seem to need the older .94.0 version of freshclam, the software responsible for signature updates. If this applies to you, please get back here.
