You folks are waaay over my head. All I know is that 88.1 will not download updates at all on my WinME system. I eagerly await you fixed version.

Thanks for the fast response.

Yes, I unzipped that file into clamwin's bin folder. No joy -- it didn't solve the problem. I am back to running 0.88, which works just fine.

The newer non-cygwin worked ok for me, alch (thanks much!)

Not sure why the newer files didn't work for bellgamin; did you note the instructions above?
0.88 was upgraded due to a security issue, so 0.88.1 definitely is indicated....

I tried again from scratch. Uninstalled 0.88 then did a clean install of 0.88.1, following which I unzipped feshclam-0.88.1.1.zip into clamwin's bin. But the updater just sat there, numb. No joy whatsoever. (sob) Crying or Very sad

Ergo, I did a rollback to 0.88. It still runs fine, & so have all prior versions.

If 0.88 has "security issues" should I not use it at all? Shocked

No error message. It just stayed on the update page, with *no action* -- I waited a full 30 minutes before giving up.

Hola, mon -- you are a flaming genius! It works!

May you have -
Walls for the wind
And a roof for the rain,
And drinks beside the fire.

Laughter to cheer you
And those you love near you,
And all that your heart may desire

cool. Could you tell me what database mirror do you have in clamwin.conf and do you have any proxy configured. Better yet paste your c:\windows\application data\.clamwin\clamwin.conf file here in a whole

Duhhh... I have no idea what you are talking about. Shocked

Maybe you want the URL my updater points to --- database.clamav.net

Or maybe you want a read-out from db files at .clamwin\db\. If so, it's mostly non-text but here are the first few lines...

If what you want isn't shown above, tell me a file to check or a GUI tab to check & I shall do so ASAP. Else ....... Che cosa conosco? Confused

Just a small contribution from Portugal: I had the same problem as secretclam and the others, with Win98SE. It was solved by installing the feshclam-0.88.1.1.zip patch provided by alch. Thank you all.
Providing a link in the main site would be fine. There are still a lot of us using Win98 around here, and maybe some haven't found this forum yet!
