I get the following msg after downloading latest version. I uninstalled then reinstalled, rebooted twice. I disabled my firewall also while trying to download the update

Error: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

It looks like you might have the ClamWin virus signature database in some location that causes a problem. Look at your configuraton and see where the file location is for the Virus Database Folder. The default location upon installation on a Windows XP machine is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\db . You are supposed to be able to put it wherever you want, but I always accept the default.

it sounds like a msvc runtime library problem. Try to install this set of libraries from Microsoft:
https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en

Hi,
I get a slightly different error message, and I have checked the the directory locations mentioned in the error message are present except for the last 2.
Could not start process:
"C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\freshclam.exe" --stdout --datadir="C:\WINDOWS\All Users\.clamwin\db" --config-file="c:\docume~1\sk\locals~1\temp\tmpipzjy8" --log="c:\docume~1\sk\locals~1\temp\tmp2nbhtv"
Error: The parameter is incorrect.
I have also applied the program (vcredist_x86.exe) but still no luck.
