Group,
I have found that Clamwin is incorrectly diagnosing Citect Backup files as containing the "Oversize.Zip Virus" this is a pain as it is preventing these .ctx backups from arriving by mail.
There are various references on the web to this beings a common problem for calmwin, is there anyway I can prevent clamwin from checking this type of files or is there likely to be a fix in the near future. At this rate I will have little choice but to romove the clamwin. I have it currently set to nitify me of issues with email yet it still deletes the files.
thanks in advance
Andrew

Clam/ClamWin assumes that very large zipped files contain a "logic bomb." I don't remember the size limit, but it's much larger than most compressed files.
See if you can use ClamWin preferences to filter out the *.ctx files. I'm not sure if this will work for files that are inside a zipped file, but see if it does. If it doesn't, you might want to consider unchecking the archives preference so that ClamWin doesn't scan inside archives/compressed files. It will will scan the raw files, but it won't decompress them.

Tried both options and it didn't solve the problem. Seems like those options only extend to the virus scanning not emal.

Sorry it didn't work. Perhaps one of the developers will lend a hand then.
