I get the following message on my outgoing Outlook mail:
Sending' reported error (0x800CCC65) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 503 valid RCPT command must precede DATA'
I've been informed by my hosting company that I need to remove the email scan on outgoing email. I've done this and still get the same error. Is there something else I need to do?

clamwin cannot cause this error, it does not interfere with SMTP protocol. Try using some other email client first (thunderbird, outlook express) and if the problem persists disable your firewall, then if it is still a problem need to sort it out with the hosting company.
