When I'm Checking my messages on outlook clamwin seems to scan each time I place pointer over an email, I'm just guessing tha's the reason why seems to freeze for a minute, depending on the attach.
In case I'm rigth, Is there any way for Clamwin to Scan each message just once?

unfortunately no. saving custom properties in an outlook message caused winmail.dat problems in forwarded or replied messages before.
The speed of scanning in outlook will be greatly improved in clamwin v1 though.

I have a problem with Outlook aswell.
I find that checking sent emails takes about 20 secs to move from one message to another as it is scanned and freezes me out.
This is just too long for me to be abe to work with.
I am impressed with clamwins scanning and detection and i am now thinking of using it only as a scheduled computer scanner every night and just rely on Norton 2006 for email scanning.
How can I configure this and is it a reasonable solution given my requisits.

yes it is reasonable suggestion.
You will need to uninstall clamwin and then install it again but this time select custom setup type and deselect Outlook integration. This way clamwin will be installed without outlook plugin

I've an end user with outlook 2003 who also has this problem. Does anyone have any idea why it happens?

Hi, I read the above messages and I have to state that the problem still exists in the newer versions of Clamwin. Is there any solution possible in the meantime to switch off the repeatedly scan of emails?

the only option is to remove outlook integration - uninstall and reinstall without outlook plugin.
