I scanned the forums and didn't find anything of this nature, sorry if the answer already exists.

I am using WINXP Home, and Outlook 2003. Clamwin is curently disabled, for outlook only, but I would like to turn it on again.

The Story:

I am opening several emails with attachments and each is being quarantined as soon as I touch the email. What is interesting is that I had an email that I sent from work with about 10 attachments in it. Basic .ics files for appointments, clamwin allowed me to open the first 5, and then killed of the rest, as well as killed off the ones that I had already opened.

So, irritated I had to disable the load with outlook add in feature. I am hoping that I am just working with an old version or something (0.88.3.1). Any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Chris

Most likely, your configuration with Outlook is wrong. If it is, then you should be able to do a scan of the problem files with ClamWin alone (outside of Outlook) without any problems.

If you still have the problems using ClamWin alone, you might try a reinstall or download ClamWin again.

That's about all I can suggest.

Well that is pretty broad... What kind of configuration problems do you anticipate. I am pretty much keeping with the default settings. So a straight install of outlook 2003, and then install clamwin is about all I did. No one else is experiencing this I guess huh?

I don't use Outlook, so that's the best I could do for you. If you think Outlook is okay, then like I suggested, scan one of those files from ClamWin by itself. If it scans okay, then the problem HAS to be with Outlook.

couple of questions:

1) what is written in the report attached by clamwin instead of an orginal file?

2) if you do a normal scan with clamwin not in Outlook, does it scan as expected?

1) "Scan started: Sat Sep 16 09:39:52 2006" is all that is placed in the report file.

2) "Scan started: Sat Sep 16 09:42:04 2006", this was a new txt file with nothing in it.

Seems like the silly thing is broke it is calling everything a virus. So what is my best option, uninstall and reinstall or just uninstall?

Oh yes I forget: when the virus scan is being run it feeds back the following "error?"

Code:
X '--------------------------' is not a valid integer value.

Chris

I would suggest to uninstall, then install withouth Outlook Integration. Then run a sample scan and paste the report here.
