As you have already noticed, virus database update process of ClamAV is down since the beginig of March 2021.

1) If you try to browse with Firefox on https://www.clamav.net the server response " Error 1020...Access denied". It's a fake. The proof : try to change your browser or your browser user agent and the website is once again up !

2) So the second step is to download the Windows 32 or 64 bits package of ClamAV : https://www.clamav.net/downloads#collapseImmunet

3) install or use portable version.

4) copy and open the file "freshclam.conf" with text editor like notepad or notepad++

5) edit and add this line : DatabaseDirectory "C:\ProgramData\.clamwin\db"

6) open command windows and go to the Clamav directory and launch freshclam.exe

7) your Clamwin is once again up to date !

To my mind, ClamAV has decided to ban Clamwin users and done it with unfair methods.

Please notify me and share to the others if you improve the update processing.

Thanks for the information. I think that Clam AV is only targeting users with versions before 0.100.0. Unfortunately,
ClamWin has not been updated for over 2 years now--its version is 0.99.4. It is very old and does not include any new improvements made by Clam AV during this period. In fact, the developer has not included some good improvements since ClamWin version .95. ClamWin users reallly deserve better protection after hanging in there with it for so long.

Here's a simple solution . Delete ClamWin and go with another free antivirus program.
