Hello all,
Thanks for the time looking at this ticket.

Situation:
I have a setup here win a CentOS7 system running clamav with frequent freshclam automated update download, and running a http server which internally hosts an update web location for the files.

I only and distribute the full daily.cvd, main.cvd and bytecode.cvd, not the individual cdiff files. (there are reasons for it).

I enterred the local web address into the preferences of the clamwin client (on multiple windows versions as old as Windows Server 2003 R2) on our test systems to download the updates every day at 9 am in the morning, but it gives me the following errors:

ClamAV update process started at Thu Jan 28 10:11:24 2021

Update failed. Your network may be down or none of the mirrors listed in c:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\freshclam.conf is working. Check https://www.clamav.net/doc/mirrors-faq.html for possible reasons.

In the clamwin.conf file updates section there is this:
[Updates]
checkversion = 1
checkversionurl = https://10.x.x.130/avfiles/clamwinver.php
warnoutofdate = 1
enable = 1
dbupdatelogfile = C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\log\ClamUpdateLog.txt
dbmirror = https://10.x.x.130/avfiles
updateonlogon = 0
frequency = Daily
weekday = 2
time = 09:00:00
freshclamparams = --no-dns

Also treid to run the freshclam command on the cli:
freshclam.exe --config-file="c:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\freshclam.conf" --datadir="c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\db" --no-dns --log=clamupd.log

but gives me exactly the same result.

The local mirror files can be accessed through a web browser and downloaded with no problems, so the webhost is set to allow read/download by the clients.

The big question:
How can I prevent the client from checking the hostname/IP verrification of the local mirror?

any help will be appreciated.

Kind Regards, Stefan.

These forums are for users of the ClamWin free, open source antivirus for Windows. Although ClamWin uses a port of the Linux Clam AV program over to Windows, there are differences because of the operating systems, and we can not help you here.

I suggest you try to get help from the Clam AV website/team.
