Does ClamWin Tray need to run at startup on .97? I'm on a limited resource system with Win 98.
Thanks... |

you can disable but you'll loose: 1) Scheduled scans 2) Scheduled virus database updates 3) notifications If you update your db manually and scan manually then it's ok to disable the tray startup |

Thank you both for replying.
Yes, I am running Clam Sentinel also, but have to disable real time scanning to open a browser as it takes too much life out of this old box (96 MB, 400 MGHZ). I have no objections to manual updates or scans, so I'm good to go. I just wanted to be sure there were no adverse system or program issues. Thanks again, you've been very helpful. PS Sorry I missed out on the .97 beta testing. Since my XP box died (CPU) a few weeks ago, I've been very busy trying to get this old 98 system running again. |

Not to worry. I'm sure there will be another ClamWin beta! Clam AV version .97 surprised me.
