I am using clamwin on my Windows Home Server which is a variant of 2003 Server. Though it is setup to update hourly... No updates occur unless I am logged in. Is there any thing I can do besides logging in to have updates occur?

On a side note I think your product is good and would spark people to stop raping people for AV if you made this work with Windows Home Server. Besides those people need their flakes frosted from time to time!

Actually, I just had a similar problem. ClamWin refused to update the virus definitions (claiming that I needed to upgrade to version 0.93.3, which does not actually exist to my knowledge). As soon as I logged into the ClamWin site, it updated without a hitch, and said nothing about a 'version 0.93.3'.

Not that it's really a big deal, but I'd be interested to know why the updater is checking for a version of ClamWin that has not yet been released, and why it won't update until I log in.

Clamwin does not require you to login to "clamwin.com" website for database upgrades - it is most likely just a coincidence.

We will not be releasing 0.93.3 version because clamav engine update does not include significant fixes for what we use.

I believe he was not talking about logging into the Clamwin site.

He was speaking of being logged in to his serer at home.

Perhaps you will need to do some firewall configuration on the server side to allow ClamWin to go onto the web automatically.

I'm new to ClamWin and have just noticed that it will not update either if I am not logged in. I'm confused at why bother giving the option in the first place.
Why I try and issue freshclam --version, I get can't open/parse the config file...\clamwin\bin\freshclam.conf.

If I need to run via a batch file, how should the file read to perform nightly updates?

Also... can someone explain the Windows Service options:

--daemon
--install
