I am failing to update the virus database (it is the first time it occurs). The message below appears everytime I try to update the database.

most likely you need to configure clamwin to use a proxy server.

hello, we have a pblm with clamwin.
I inqtall clamav in server linux (it is a proxy @ip 10.0.0.1), after i install clamwin in client in my lan i configure clamwin that : internetupdate : download site ; 10.0.0.1
and in proxy -proxy server :10.0.0.1
baut we enable to update clamwin, it shown : can't connect via 10.0.0.1.
can you help me

you need to put main.cvd and daily.cvd into your web server root for this scenario to work. refer to the advanced manual section for more info. No need for proxy server in this case

hello alch, but we have main.cvd and daily.cvd in my server proxy not in my server web because i installed clamav in this server,
can i use my update from my server proxu or i install again clamav in my server web?
if i can use my server proxy how?

your post is very confusing. you can update either form your own server or from database.clamav.net
Please read appropriate clamav and apache documentation

It solved changing the download site to:

db.es.clamav.net

The "Can't read main.cvd header.." line combined with the successful download from the alternate server site mentioned below by leoperbo indicates a problem with the database.clamav.net server, doesn't it?
