The email scan alert just sends an email message to the email address you select when ClamWin finds an infection--it doesn't have anything to do with scanning your email. To scan email, you need to have Microsoft Outlook and configure ClamWin via the Email Scanning folder.

I have the same problem with Outlook. I have several account on it and I am not sure if it is scaning my email or not. How would I be able to tell if it is?

If you have set up ClamWin corrrectly to scan Outlook and you can scan your Outlook files manually, then it is probably scanning Outlook okay. You might have someone email you and attach the EICAR virus test file to check it out.
