I haven't had this problem before with clamwin. The version I am using is 0.94.1 and thought if I updated to version 0.95.2 it would fix the problem but then figure I should ask first before doing so.

clamav-d437c6f47bcc2bce6ddcd4e562271386.00000ddc.clamtmp also popped up as a trojan from the Avast AV program running on the machine I was using, I took no action thinking it would cause a bigger problem with how clamwin runs.

If there is a solution to this problem, please help me out. I am a dedicated user of clamwin that runs on my USB stick that I use on a daily bases. and would hate to lose all th definitions i've acquire or have to stop using clamwin.

Thanks in advance.

Avast just detected a virus signature in one of ClamWin's temp files, which may contain signatures. See if you can exclude this file type from Avast's scans, but I don't think you can do that with its real-time scanner if you are using the free version.

It looks like your signature database file(s) couldn't be found or couldn't be read--doesn't sound like a problem with the ClamWin version. You might try deleting the main/daily databases and then try to update.

The latest version always has some increased functionality/stability, so it's better to use it.

I deleted the daily.cvd and ran clamwin. It notified me that I have not download any signatures as it did when I first originally installed the program. It updated the signatures with no problem and Avast didn't pick up anything during it's real-time watch.

Let me ask this. If one user were to get daily updates for let's say 4 months, and another user gets the very first update after installation. Would there be any significant differences in the virus signatures acquired? Or, would they have the same record of signatures from day one since clamwin was released?

there shouldn't be any differences in signatures between two people getting them at different times. the daily updates are incremental to minimize resource use.
