Make sure your ClamWin preferences for Internet Updates is set to Enable Automatic Virus Database Updates. Right click on the ClamWin icon, select Configure ClamWin, select the Internet Updates tab, and make sure that the Enable Automatic Virus Database Updates block is checked. Also select the frequency, time, and day (if applicable) that you want--also any warning/notice if you want them. If this doesn't apply, you might try uninstalling and then reinstalling ClamWin.

database.clamav.net does not seem to be available, as a matter fo fact, nothing on the clamav.net domain is. not even www.clamav.net itself.

Is there another URL for the virus definitions?

then there is something wrong with your DNS.

You may try an IP addresses of one of the db.us.clamav.net mirrors:
64.142.100.50 (worked for me)
