by default clamwin only reports and it is up to you to remove the file. You can configure it to quarantine in general settings.

I strongly suggest to quarantine it to set it's as effective as delete but protects from losing an important file due to a false positive

When you set ClamWin to quarantine, you can then upload the virus file to VirusTotal on the Web and check it for free against many other scanners. VirusTotal will give you an on-screen report of what each scanner found. If ClamWin is the only scanner that found something, it is probably a false positive and you can restore the file to where it was before quarantine.
ClamWin shouldn't be your primary scanner. Use a resident scanner along with ClamWin until Version 1.0. There are some good free scanners--including AVG and Avira Antivir. Regards, |
