Set ClamWin to update automatically once a day or upon startup (which I do). There is only one daily update. They are integrating daily/main databases today, so there could be a problem.

Not only an I getting exactly the same error it's exactly the same daily file that is trying to be downloaded https://database.clamav.net/daily-26194.cdiff
So if the original post in this thread was 14th July 2021 and it's the same daily file https://database.clamav.net/daily-26194.cdiff then what is going on? |

Did you try what I told the other user way back in July? I see there was no subsequent post by the user.
If that didn't work, let me know, and I'll see if I can contact a developer. Looks like you may have a certificate problem. Regards, |

I had the same problem today after installing ClamWin. I have it every time I install ClamWin and it's the same file #26194. I deleted the .cvd files in C:\ProgramData\.clamwin\db and also deleted the ClamUpdateLog.txt file in C:\ProgramData\.clamwin\log
Then I manually updated and it was able to update. Devs should fix this. Regards. |

Clam AV at Cisco furnishes the scan engine & signature updates to ClamWin. The signature updates come from the Clam AV mirrors. Just set the ClamWin preferences to update like you want, and let it go at that. The mirrors are sometimes a bit "touchy". There are only one or two updates each day.

This has been happening for a couple of years, every time I install ClamWin. Even when I do as you have suggested, it never updates until I delete the .cvd files that the installer comes with.

Sometimes you have to delete the files in the ClamWin database folder to get it to update--the Clam AV mirrors are "touchy" sometimes or a database could become corrupted for some reason.
Perhaps you should just keep ClamWin installed. It doesn't really use much memory on today's computers, and it's not going to interfere with other software. One thing--make sure that you have configured ClamWin's preferences to allow signature updates. Regards, |
