Please describe the problem. Are you trying to update the DB manually? Are you trying to update the DB automatically via a schedule set up in the ClamWin preferences?
Clam AV updates the DB several times each day, but it may not be updated when you want it to. The best thing to do is to set ClamWin to update automatically each hour via the ClamWin preferences and don't worry about it. There should be approximately 1,000 new signatures added to the DB every day (sometimes more, sometimes less).
Remember that you should use ClamWin as a backup, second opinion scanner to a real-time antivirus for best protection.
Regards,

Thanks Boob for you repply!
I checked the CLamAV blog and it appear that it has a problem 1 November. I think taht they was trying or testing because that yesterday (for example) din't works
ClamWIn is a good software. I 'm wainting but i will not chage my one of my antivirus foir a second oppinion. For my ClamSentinel is better than stay clamwin alone because clamwin can't work by it shelf. It only works by user demand.
Thanks!

I think you should replace Clam Sentinel with Microsoft Security Essentials/Windows Defender or a free antivirus from a commercial AV company. The Clam Sentinel developer quit supporting the program in 2014, and there has been no work on it since then. It is based on malware that existed in 2014, but malware has changed since then, and Sentinel is not able to detect the new malware. The Av programs I mentioned provide much better protection than Clam Sentinel.
By the way, I helped Andrea Russo, the Clam Sentinel developer, come up with the heuristic detections used by Clam Sentinel. I am the Robert Scroggins he mentions in the "Thank You" notes. I think you should take my advice!

Hello again!.
ClamWin can't update the clamwin database.
ClamWIn only can check the main file but it can't dowload the clamav database by itshelf
And a think that the newer users will unistall ClamWIn.
By example:
The user "robertsaint" (i'm not I). You can check it on the sourceforge clawin page has wrote a opinion
https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamwin/
I think thats it the best but while we wait.

I do not worry about the updates. I just set ClamWin to get the Clam AV updates hourly and leave it alone.

Yes. I did this!
I checked and i leave alone but it isn't work!
What about for new clamwin release?
I like that it can reemplace Clam Sentinel. By the moment i leave clamsentinel installed
And ?What it happen when ClamAv leave support for Clam-av 0.99.1 ?
I wan't a real-time protection for a second opinion.
Clam sentinel helped one time that a unknown setup program .
I like ClamWin.

The ClamWin developers (Alch and Sherpya) usually release a new version of ClamWin after Clam AV releases a new version. They port the Clam AV Linux code over to Windows. If there are no important changes in Clam AV, the ClamWin developers may not issue a new version, however. They did not release a version .99.2--that is why ClamWin is still in version .99.1--there were no important changes in Clam AV version.99.2.
Malware has changed a lot since ClamWin was originally written, and ClamWin needs a more modern version to keep up with malware, but I do not believe it will get one. That is why a you need a modern, real-time antivirus program as your main protection.

Hello Raul:
I agree with Bob's posts above. I am also not currently having any problem with ClamWin updates. You could try deleting the contents of ProgramData\.clamwin\db (folder location for Win 8+) and performing a manual update, or let the hourly updates run. If still no joy, please copy/paste the log from the last one or two update attempts.
Regards,
Lipper

Perhaps there is a problem with the Clam AV mirror(s) serving Spain. If that is the case, there is a place on the web where you can do manual updates. I can't recall it right now, but some research can probably turn it up. I'm sure that it has been mentioned a few times on the ClamWin forums. I will check later-I'm very -busy at the moment.
