Clam AV has a survey that you should be interested in taking. It is at https://blog.clamav.net/ on the web. Read the blog and take the survey below it. Clam AV appears to be trying to determine how it is used--operating system, etc. I hope that Clam AV will do something for Windows users if there are enough of them--possibly accommodate real-time scanning or something else. Be sure to take it and tell them you are a Windows user. I did not mention ClamWin when I took the survey. They have their own Windows port but it has been an on-demand scanner like ClamWin for a long time now. Let's keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.

I recommended a on-access scanner, a GUI, and possible assembling a cloud service. ClamAV also needs to run as a service on Windows in order to resolve the high CPU and slow scan issues.
