I use my Taskbar on the top of the screen, and when the "New version available" notification windows pops up, its off-screen (ie, above the top of the screen). In order to see it, I have to right-click on the task (in the taskbar), select "Move", and then move it on-screen with the keyboard.
Even then, the next time this window pops up, its off-screen again.
