since end of last year i'am not ablbe to update virus database.

Version is 0.99

Windows Server 2008 64 bit

I get:

Uninstalled and installed many times new. No success.

Now i wanted to test the following:

Other 64 bit frehclam.exe version in other folder. Because some DLL problems.

Changed in the ClamWin.conf the entry:

freshclam =

to the new path. But when try to update ClamWin ignores this path. It only serches in the own folder.

What cam i do?

Clam AV furnishes its scan engine and virus signatures to ClamWin. Clam AV has not had very many signature updates for the last 3 weeks or so. Set ClamWin to update automatically every hour and see if that works--it should at least show it tried to update but there were not any signatures. If it does that okay, don't worry about manual updates.

Would have been nice that he can't find something because is up to date!

Any idea why i can not set a different freshclam in other folder? For what is the the entry in the ClamWin.conf when ClamWin ignores that?

I'am not sure what the DNS problems could be beauce everything with LAN and internet is working on that machine. Firewall exception for freshclam is defined.

It's a DNS problem all right. Will your other software update? Will another AV update? Download Malwarebytes Antimalware free version--update and do a scan with it. Also download and install Malwarebytes Anti Exploit free--it will protect your browser from exploits, and comes with a 15 day full anti exploit version, which defaults to just browser protection after 15 days. Some viruses will delete themselves if Malwarebytes Antimalware or Malwarebytes Anti Exploit are on your computer.

Your computer may have some sort of virus in memory that changes DNS settings.
