Hello,

Does ClamWin install resident processes, which stay active even when the program is closed?
Does ClamWin install its own drivers?

Thanks.

You can look at Task Manager to see any ClamWin processes--there are two--ClamWin and ClamTray. I do not believe there are any Windows services used by ClamWin, and there are no specific drivers.

I'm sure the developers will correct me if my knowledge is lacking in this area.

Regards,

Could a developer confirm this? I would like to be sure.

The only process is ClamTray.exe which is meant to be running when a user is logged on - it is responsible for database updates and scheduler. It can be closed from the menu or removed from startup items but then the database updates and scans will have to be scheduled by other means.
Does ClamWin install its own drivers?
no

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.

If I disable ClamTray.exe from startup, then I can be sure that there is no activity related to ClamWin going on, in background, when the program is closed?
Sorry for asking: are you a ClamWin developer? (I think so.)
