It appears that the freshclam scanner can not find the place where it needs to begin. Perhaps you had a bad installation. I suggest that you reinstall ClamWin verson .98 again and see if it works okay then. If it does not, please get back here, and tell us. Also tell us what version of Windows you are using.

GuitarBob,
The problem was because I use ClamWin and ClamSentinel (https://clamsentinel.sourceforge.net/), and when I updated ClamWin I forgot to stop ClamSentinel. I think ClamSentinel was holding libclamav.dll, so ClamWin installer couldn't update it. I confirm that after reinstall (without ClamSentinel running), ClamWin works flawlessly so far. Thanks for your help. Regards, Will. |

Yes, not stopping Clam Sentinel before a ClamWin install can cause problems. You did not mention that you were using it also. I try to remember to Stop and Exit Sentinel to prevent any problems, but it is easy to forget.
Thank you for using both programs. There is a new version of Clam Sentinel in testing, and I hope Andrea Russo will release it soon. It will have some new suspicious detections, reduced false positives, a system tray warning when suspicious detections have been disabled, network folder scanning, and support for 4 new languages.
