Hello Clamwin team,
Clam AV 0.97.7 is out. Do you plan to release Clamwin 0.97.7 as well? Will a new version of Clam Sentinel be published as well?
Thank you very much and have a nice day!

I've not heard anything yet about a ClamWin version. I understand that version .97.7 has mostly security bug fixes, and it doesn't have any enhancements in scanning. Sherpya has always had a fairly current copy of the Clam Windows code in the past, but Sourcefire is much tighter-lipped abut things than the old Clam AV team. I think version .98 is not too far away.

Sherpya has a git copy of the Clam source, so there may be ClamWin beta version this weekend.
Clam Sentinel and ClamWin are separate projects, so they do not share the same release schedule. Andrea Russo has been testing a new version of Sentinel (1.21) for a couple of months now, and I think it will be ready soon. I understand that he is waiting for some new translations to be finished.

Thank you for being a loyal supporter of ClamWin and Clam Sentinel!
ClamWin version .97.7 should be just bug fixes, but ClamSentinel version 1.21 should be worth the wait--with quicker malware detection, additional suspicious file detections, support for the Azeri, Dutch, and Hindu languages, and a red mark in the bottom right of the system tray shield when system monitor heuristics have been disabled. It will also reduce false positive detections on dll files.

Hello,
thanks for the quick beta, I will test it and give a feedback.
@Guitarbob:
Does Andrea have any plans for a 64 bit version of Clam Sentinel? 32 Bit systems are running out of order these days.
Have a nice weekend!

what are the command line switches for the silent install of the 97.6 to 97.7 upgrade program?
I've tried various combinations of /sp- /silent /norestart but to no avail.
Thanks,
- D

Hello D:
This is the link to the FAQ about Silent install: https://www.clamwin.com/content/view/100/27/ on the ClamWin web site.

Hello Free fighter:
I have not heard Andrea mention anything about a 64-bit version of Clam Sentinel. The current version will probably be around for a while as long as Microsoft enables 32-bit use on Win 64-bit machines. Ditto for ClamWin.

The upgrade from 97.6 to 97.7 doesn't install silent but the full 97.7 program does. Interesting.

Evidently then, silent install does not allow for an update--just the full program. I guess the updater is a fairly recent thing.
