Answer = You can exclude some file extensions from being scanned like pictures of type *.jpg, *png and many others.

Also it doesn't have issues like the Firefox Glue Extesnsion for Clamwin. just give it a try, you will notice the differences

I tried it before it it had the same big problem: if you chose "Run" instead of "Save" in the download window, the file will be executed before it gets scanned. I presume this is still correct.

Alch..

A brief explanation on your problem

1. When you choose "Run" instead of "Save" , that File is 1st saved in the Temporary internet Files on your Local PC before its executed.

2. After saving it, then its executed.

Now, when its saved the file is scanned by Clamwin scanner, then executed later on. but sometimes the scanning and execution may take place so fast in that you may think that the file is executed first before its scanned

I hope that explanation is clear and helpful

Not quite. try to "Run" the eicar test file:
https://www.eicar.org/download/eicar_com.zip

and with this extension you will see that the zip file is opened, however normally it should have not been allowed to open because a virus (eicar test) was found. This is the fundamental problem, a user might run the file thinking that clamwin glue will block a virus and get infected.

Alch...

yah you are right. But I think it comes still to the fact that Clamwin isn't yet an online/Real- time Scanner.

Otherwise thanx for the facts
