Will Clamwin remove the Win32/Sality virus completely, How much effective is it for commercial use.
Why is the Clamwin executable file getting corrupt, even a few seconds after reinstallation. :?:

ClamWin is free for everyone--even commercial businesses, but I would not advise its use for business, and I would advise anyone who uses it to also use a real-time scanner along with ClamWin. ClamWin only scans "on demand" as you do a manual scan or as you have a scan scheduled. Viruses work in "real-time" as files are activated on your computer, so you need a real-time antivirus as well. Microsoft Security Essentials is free for businesses with less than 10 computers. Most other free real-time scanners require businesses to use their paid version.

ClamWin uses the virus signatures and scan engine furnished by Clam AV. It can only remove files which contains viruses that are in its signatures. It may not completely clean your computer of Sality viruses because each Sality file is a bit different, and there may be some files with Sality that it cannot recognize. ClamWin also does not do any cleaning of the Windows registry, which some viruses may also infect. I think MIcrosoft Security Essentials is your best bet here.

It is unusual for the ClamWin executable to become corrupted. The signatures may become corrupt occasionally, but I have never seen a corrupt executable since I started using it in 2006. It is possible that a virus with the abilty to disable the executables of antivirus programs has infected your computer. You can get some help listed on the ClamWin Antimalware page. It is sometimes difficult for any AV to clean a computer if it has become infected before the AV is installed. Let me suggest Kaspersky's free TDSSKiller, Malwarebytes free antimalware, and Microsoft Security Essentials--in that order.

Neither ClamWin or ClamWin with ClamSentinel should be used for commercial use. You need something more powerful--unless all users are experienced, careful and safe surfers, and most users are not!
