Hello everyone,
I have got a minor problem when i update the virusdatabase with freshclam.exe . I use a portable installation with relative paths.
When i update with freshclam i get an error message: can`t open ..\db/mirrors.dat for writing.
However the database is updated quite normally.
No Problem with version 0.96.4 .
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you on Windows 7? It seems they are having some DNS problems there. I think there have been a couple of other users posts about that, and I believe Sherpya had an answer. See if you can search the posts--I believe it was in another part of this forum.
Regards,

Hello GuitarBob,
No i am not. I am a Windows XPSP3 User. I don`t think it is a DNS problem but an issue with a faulty relative path because there is a slash and a backslash in the pathstring of the errorline.
Thanks for your answer.

Of course i can.
First the cmdline:
i am going with cd into the clamwin\bin directory and then:
freshclam --datadir=..\db config-file=freshclam.conf
And here is the freshclam.conf:
# URL of server where database updates are to be downloaded from
# If this option is given multiple times, each will be tried in
# the order given until an update is successfully downloaded
DatabaseMirror database.clamav.net
# Number of times to try each mirror before moving to the next one
MaxAttempts 3
