Thoroughly confused... please help!
OK, I was trying to update latest definitions, and got (pasted from update screen):
ClamAV update process started at Sat Dec 19 00:21:49 2009
main.cvd is up to date (version: 51, sigs: 545035, f-level: 42, builder: sven)

But, when I looked at the log fille through ClamWin, it shows:
ClamAV update process started at Sat Dec 19 00:21:49 2009
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!
WARNING: Local version: 0.95.2 Recommended version: 0.95.3

It never showed in the active screen that there was a new version. That's question number 1. Why not?
Second, I tried to download the latest, and as it starts thinking about me downloading, IE 6 shuts down.
Now I could swear that when I originally downloaded ClamAV, it asked me what operating system, etc... I am running (don't laugh) Win ME.
I checked the FAQ's (though I DID panic), and nothing there seems to relate. Any ideas? Is there a different way to download that prompts me for my OS? I didn't understand much about 'source' or 'package'.
Any ideas to get me going?
Thanks in advance!

There are blocks to to check under the Internet Updates configuration option to (1) warn you when your version of ClamWin is outdated and to (2) automatically update ClamWin. Make sure they are selected. If they are, this is probably one of those times when ClamWin has a problem updating--happens to me once in a while. I try a couple of times and then leave it along. It usually will update when I try again some time later.
I've never seen any message asking the user for an OS--I think that would be built into the ClamWin code so you wouldn't need to do that.
You might want to take a look at ClamSentinel front-end to ClamWin at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. It's not an officially-approved ClamWin application, but it provides a certain measure of real-time protection, especially for those users of older OS. It does require some configuration.

I just clicked on the ClamSentinel link above, and it works for me. You might try entering it manually in your browser.
The new version of Sentinel seems to work fine. It has a virtual driver for Win 98 machines.

Is this the right place for my question?
How to update my ClamWinPortable 0.93 to 0.95 a?
Are there significant differences between 0.93 and 0.95.3?

I suggest you visit the ClamWin Portable site at https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable on the web. These forums here are dedicated to the desktop version. There are always some good enhancements to ClamWin, so you should get the latest version as soon as you can, whether you use the Portable or desktop version. The ClamWin Portable site does a good job at staying up to date.

This brings up the ClamWin Portable site for me at https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable on the web.
The Clam Sentinel site is still at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. Version 1.14 with both real time and heuristic detection is available. Please read the Simple Guide before installing/upgrading.
