Hello friends..
I have not been on this forum for a little while, hope you all are having good time. Is there anyone using ClamWin on Windows 7? I recently purchased a new desktop computer running Windows 7 and want the best free antivirus. Currently I am using ClamWin with Windows XP and impressed with the overall performance. Looking forward to hear from your side before getting into anything.
Thanks..

You should have no problem using ClamWin on Windows 7. I think you will find that. You know that ClamWin is not a "real-time" antivirus--it just scans "on-demand" when you do a manual scan or a scheduled scan. You should have a real-time AV and use ClamWin as a backup if you are on the web a lot.
ClamSentinel is a separate project that adds a real-time scanner to ClamWin, and it can also detect unknown viruses for which ClamWin does not yet have a signature. It is available for free at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. Sentinel is easy to use, but you should read the Simple Guide that comes withit before you install it. ClamWin should be installed before you install/use Sentinel.
A couple of other good free AV programs are AntiVir from Avira and Avast from Alwil. AntiVir is probably a slightly better scanner, but Avast has more complete protection.
