You should have no problem using ClamWin on Windows 7. I think you will find that. You know that ClamWin is not a "real-time" antivirus--it just scans "on-demand" when you do a manual scan or a scheduled scan. You should have a real-time AV and use ClamWin as a backup if you are on the web a lot.
ClamSentinel is a separate project that adds a real-time scanner to ClamWin, and it can also detect unknown viruses for which ClamWin does not yet have a signature. It is available for free at https://sourceforge.net/projects/clamsentinel/ on the web. Sentinel is easy to use, but you should read the Simple Guide that comes withit before you install it. ClamWin should be installed before you install/use Sentinel. A couple of other good free AV programs are AntiVir from Avira and Avast from Alwil. AntiVir is probably a slightly better scanner, but Avast has more complete protection. Regards, |
