I was just browsing firefox extensions and found this...

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/771/

It scans everything you download auto with clamwin. Thats quite a neat extension for firefox browsers.

yes it scans downloaded files, however BE CAREFUL as the plugin will scan downloaded file AFTER it was executed if you chose "Run" instead of "Save".

You can also use the firefox extension "Download Scan" which can work with most virus scanner.
You can find the extension here:
https://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/downscan/

To configure it you have to enter:
1. Open up the options dialog.
2. Click on the "Virus Scan" tab
3. Enter the location of the ClamWin.exe file in the "Anti-Virus program location", e.g. "C:\Program Files\ClamWin\bin\ClamWin.exe"
4. Enter
--mode=scanner --path=%1
into the arguments field.
5. Click apply.

Now if you download a file than it will be scanned automatically by ClamWin.

To test it go to https://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm and download the sample virus files there to make sure that ClamWin detects the viruses. (But Beware, read the full disclaimer on the site!)

Greetings, Maria!

same issue as with the other plugin:
BE CAREFUL as the plugin will scan downloaded file AFTER it was executed if you chose "Run" instead of "Save". So the file will get executed before it is scanned.

because --remove and --bell are clamscan parameters not clamwin. You can configure remove in clamwin options window, it will apply to all scans however, not only Firefox
