Does the clam-win take the threats off your computer or do i need to manually delete potentially harmful files?

ClamWin can remove or quarantine infected files. If a malware file has been activated before ClamWin can scan, it cannot "undo" anything the malware has done to your computer. Keep ClamWin updated and schedule a regular daily scan.
Malwarebytes' free version of their Malwarebytes' Antimalware program does a good job of removing malware once it gets on a computer. Dr. Web's free Cureit program is also good.
