New Trend In Malware Hidden In JPG And GIF File Extensions

I'm seeing a bit of a trend in malware being hidden in JPG and GIF files--especially on USB drives. It can either be embedded in those two file types or (more commonly) reside in an executable file that has been renamed with a JPG or GIf extension. If you use custom file extensions in your ClamWin scans, you might want to include these two file types if you use USB drives a lot. There are many of these two file types on most computers, and they are usually fairly large in size, so it may increase scan time quite a bit, but I'm including them in my scans now.

Regards,
