With regard to AVG, it's a good antivirus, and not understanding an AV is no reason to quit using it. You can contact the support personnel for assistance (AVG Free has a forum just like this ClamWin forum), and you can learn to use/understand it.
The Access Was Denied message can be because you are not running as the administrator of the computer. Sometimes access is denied because the program is an important Windows system file (I often see a couple of them during my ClamWin scans). More than likely you did download ClamWin, but you have to install it after it's download--it doesn't install itself. To install it, find out where it was downloaded and click/double click on the downloaded file name. During the download, you may have some options--just select what you think is best, but if you are not sure, the default options it comes with are usually okay. I think you need to realize that ClamWin is not a real-time scanner. This means it does not check files as they are downloaded/placed on your computer. It only checks them when you tell it to by right clicking on a file or if you schedule a scan. AVG is a real-time scanner, and most people that are not too knowledgeable about using computers are better off with a real-time scanner. Regards, |
