Two icons in system tray

The first time I installed Clamwin I received an error and Clamwin did not fully install. Because Clamwin was highly recommended by a trusted IT geek I tried to reinstalled it. After the reinstall, I had two icons in the system tray and both are functional. I uninstalled again and both icons were gone. After the uninstall I found the Clamwin.exe and Expshell.dll files did not uninstall. I could not delete Expshell.dll manually. When I reinstalled Clamwin both icon reappeared. When I check Windows Task Manager ClamTray.exe is running twice using up memory. Does that mean I have twice the protection? Laughing

Any suggestions?

Thanks but I am not familiar with editing the registry in XP. Can you tell me how or do you have any other suggestions?

Hello,
If you wish to have it done automatically have a try with Microsoft's https://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
Try the Clean up and Tune up sections; they should be able fix the registry.

Other option: download free Ccleaner @https://www.ccleaner.com/
Ccleaner will scan the registry and fix the issues (you also have the option to backup the changes before reigstry is modified so that you can recover them if you wish). Moreover Ccleaner keeps machine clear of temporary Internet files that are collected when surfing the web when activating the cleaner option.

Hope this helps,
Antonio

Thanks for your help. I ran both Onecare and Ccleaner neither corrected the problem. I then uninstalled Clamwin and before reinstalling it reran both again. This took care of the problem. I do not know if it was Onecare or Ccleaner that corrected it. Thanks again.

In my opinion the uninstalling and installing should have been the first obvious choice.
