I use Zonealarm with Windows Vista Home Premium and have just upgraded to Clamwin 94.1.
I allow Clamwin to update through Zonealarm automatically.
I have started getting warnings from Zonealarm that Clamwin is seeking permission to act as a server.
So far I have blocked this.
I don't understand why Clamwin wants to be a server or even what Clamwin being a server means.
Please could you explain this function and whether I should grant permission through Zonealarm or not.
Thanks in anticipation.
Regards
E Chen

How can I find out which it is? Both files are installed.

ZoneAlarm should tell you the process name when you block it

freshclam is not a network server nor acts as such, windows firewalls are going to be too much aggressive while detecting threats

As per sherpya's reply - this is most likely false detection from ZoneAlarm. I use comodo firewall on one of the computer s and it never registers freshclam acting as a server.

Just configure ZoneAlarm to allow Clamwin. When you install a new program, run it through its operation so your firewall/security software will recognize it and you can okay it.
