You might consider setting Clamwin's filters to only include in your scans the file extensons that are most likely harbor malware. There are 50-60 or so extensions. This should help speed up your scans. Google for "dangerous file extensions," but here's a link to one such site below:
https://safecomputing.ttu.edu/lubbock/recommended/fileextensions.php Be sure your list includes office extensions like *.doc, *.ppt, *.xls, *.rtf, *.pdf and zip extensions like *.zip, *.rar, *.tar, *.7z, *.gz and sometimes forgotten executables like *.dll, *.php, *.asp, *.ini. You could also break up your scans so that you scan your Windows directory at 10 am and your programs directory at noon, your documents/settings directory at 2 pm, etc. Regards, |
