hourly scan starts-although the previous scan did not finish

I've configured clamwin to hourly database updates and scans. On a highly loaded machine, a scan could not be completed within an hour. Nevertheless, a new clamscan process began to work. After several hours, I've had multiple clamscan.exe processes - probably all competing with each other

You might consider setting Clamwin's filters to only include in your scans the file extensons that are most likely harbor malware. There are 50-60 or so extensions. This should help speed up your scans. Google for "dangerous file extensions," but here's a link to one such site below:

https://safecomputing.ttu.edu/lubbock/recommended/fileextensions.php

Be sure your list includes office extensions like *.doc, *.ppt, *.xls, *.rtf, *.pdf and zip extensions like *.zip, *.rar, *.tar, *.7z, *.gz and sometimes forgotten executables like *.dll, *.php, *.asp, *.ini.

You could also break up your scans so that you scan your Windows directory at 10 am and your programs directory at noon, your documents/settings directory at 2 pm, etc.

Your workaround is fine, but have nothing to do with the bug

Thanks anyway,
Y.
