I installed the latest version of clamwin 0.92, and usually when I install the program the blue icon goes to the bottom of the screen to the task bar. For some reason, when I turn my computer off and then turn it on again the blue icon keeps disappearing. This is essential because it helps me keep track of the virus scan among other things.

How can I get this icon to not disappear but remain static? I tried re-installing the program a few times and each time this keeps happening and please don't tell me to read the manual because there is nothing in there that to help me with this problem. I 've had this problem before and this is what alch told me to do but the manual doesn't help. I need some other help.

Hello Becky:

Do you have this same problem with other programs you install? All I can suggest is that you re-install ClamWin, and be very careful to read all the options available to you during installation, and pick the ones that you need. I hope this helps.
I sometimes forget to do this myself.

there is a bug in explorer tray, I often get some problems with it
the solution is disabling the "upnp" client notification, that it does not disable upnp
but it fixes the tray problem

you can disable it by going in "add remove programs"
"add remove windows components"
"networking services"
"upnp user interface"

I must have re-installed this about 5 times and I have checked everything. I installed it in other computers and they have no problem. I am the only one that is having a problem with it. I had this problem in the previous version of clamwin but I fixed it because i realized that clamin wants you to install it to a specific user but now when I install this one the problem keeps happening, even though I tried installing it to a specific and only user which is me.

I don't know if this may help but I created a password to log in to my computer as the same user that the computer recognizes now and before. THe only difference is that I created a password to log in my computer everytime. I thought the problem might be this but I installed it with the only 2 choices that clamwin offered any one who users the computer and the only user and I am still having the problem.

Becky:

When you go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, look at the icons on the left border. You should see the one saying Add/Remove Windows Components. Click that, and you will see some detailed Windows components. Double click the one called Networking Services, and you will see the UPNP option which Sherpya mentioned.
