Hi All
Im abit of a noob at open source software and i'm hoping someone will be able to help me with a DB update error. When I start ClamWin I get a message saying my Database is older then 3 days and would I like to update. When I click on yes it starts and I get the following error. I tried the link at the bottom of the report but didn't help any. the error message returned from the mirror suggests you have an outdated version. Try uninstalling clamwin, then clean c:\program files\clamwin folder and install again

Apparently, even if you update to the new version it will probably say that it is outdated. So you may have to wait for 91.2. For some reason, there's a new version every 3 weeks, which screws most of us up. Because I have to install a new version everytime. This antivirus program is never static. Sucks doesn't it!

there was a bug in freshclam, which was fixed by ClamAV team in 0.91.2 (released now). So this should no longer be happening

that message has actually changed in 0.91.2 to "Ignoring mirror ... (has connected too many times with an outdated version)" which suggests that either upgrade did not happen properly or you have a non-default different path configured for freshclam in clamwin preferences.
Could you check clamwin-preferences-file locations for freshclam path it should be in c:\program files\clamwin\bin. Then check the versions of the freshclam.exe and libclamav.dll files: right-mouse click on these files in c:\program files\clamwin\bin and select properties then version. |

same prob, just updated clamav and problem persisted through version change. here is an exact copy of the error. BTW i've tried updating manually, it seems that i really don't know how to do it, but still get the error message when trying to perform an internet update. (note: this may be due to a time when my C: drive hit 0 bytes for a while... i predict clamav tried to update and couldn't due to the disk space insufficiency.. the problem should be resolved now though)

I had a similar problem and fixed it, don't know if it will work for you but...
Go to file locations and find database location right, well delete everything in there. Example location (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\.clamwin\db) Then manually download the two files to this location like so: https://database.clamav.net/main.cvd https://database.clamav.net/daily.cvd Then run an auto update. Should say everything is up to date and I don't know yet if we will run into any problems. If this works for you too, it may just be that the previous file structure was somehow incompatible with the new one. |
