I don't mean multi threaded, how can i explain this.
when ClamWin scans it scans one file at a time, eg c:\files\file1.exe | then c:\files\file2.exe c:\files\file3.exe and so on. Say this takes 10 seconds. What i am asking is would it be faster to do multiple cans at one time eg. Start scan c:\files\file1.exe c:\files\file2.exe c:\files\file3.exe And it scans all 3 files all at once, So instead of cheeking one files at a time it cheeks 3 at a time. See what i mean? Just say you have a box of apples, and you cheek one apple at a time to see if there is a worm on it, now if you where able to look at 3 apples at a time(and taking the same time to look at 1) you would be able to sort all the apples faster. |

it won't be any faster. bottleneck in clamav is IO rather than CPU
