Have a look at the following site : https://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/ https://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/
The results have aleady been discussed on this forum and are subject to comments on how the tests are done.

Here are a couple more test sites. https://winnow.oitc.com/avmalwarestats.php is an ongoing monitoring of new malware found at VirusTotal. You will see that ClamWin beats several of the commercial AV software programs, and it is close to some of the others.
https://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse/2ndgrouptest.pdf is a special test of smaller antivirus software at AV Comparatives.
I believe the first test is the one that is most relevant to an average user.

https://wiki.clamwin.com/index.php/Detection_Rate Here is also some kind of figures - perhaps someone would like to update this ?
the statistics (from https://winnow.oitc.com/avmalwarestats.php valid as of: Wed Jul 4 10:56:49 2007 EDT) show:
detected viruses by (sorted after name):
AVG
28 % (sig: 44% / heur: 56%)
975 / 3431
ClamAV
14 % (sig: 99% / heur: 1%)
481 / 3374
Symantec
29 % (sig: 89% / heur: 11%)
766 / 2637
of course always: never trust a statistic which you did not manipulate yourself

Erkan, that's the same link I posted above. The statistics are always up-to-date because they are from an ongoing survey of verified new malware sent to VirusTotal by OITC and partner Castle Cops. This is not really a test--it's based on actual submissions--not every file submitted but those that are considered new because they are spotted by 25% or less of all the 30 or so antivirus engoines used at VirusTotal. I have seen Clam move up from 13% to 14% in the last month or so, and it's interesting to compare the Clam results to the other antivirus programs. Clam beats a few of the smaller commercial programs, and it is close to a couple of the larger commercial programs.

yes, it is the same link
I put it there with purpose - because on the wiki site these 3 are mentioned by version number (though only 2 have results from the past which are also not comparable).
I guess I will make a link from the wiki site to that link, because the wiki is not updated that frequently
and...
it is good to hear and see that ClamWin gets better
