It's great to have CLAM for Windows, but when will you implement the real time shield/scan function ??? To me it is mandatory for a good AntiVirus program.

I'm looking forward to seeing that new release with the above mentioned function!!!!!!

We're all looking forward to a resident Clamwin, I'm sure. They are making progress. See https://wiki.clamwin.com/index.php/Main_Page#The_native_rewrite_aka_ClamWin_v1 for a roadmap. They are not able to work on it full time. Some estimates have put progress at about 85% of what needs to be done, but that last 15% is tough when you only have two developers working on it--and part time at that. The resident function probably won't improve detection rates (just find malware earlier). The ClamAV engine is being improved all the time--independently of ClamWin, and if you scan often, you will have good protection. By some measures, the engine is approaching the capability of some of the commercial antivirus programs.
