Hello Bob,
Strange that you find an iso larger that 700 MB. I copied the GOS iso on a standard CD. I chose that as it is easier to operate with it without all the 'mount/unmount filesystem' options that are common under Linux.
Other option for a smaller set: www.puppylinux.org
It can run as a live CD (only with a 100 MB size!) and can be copied on a USB drive. Works as well but, as I said, one has to work a little bit with the 'mount/unmount volume' features.

ok please forgive any hostility implied in my tone here, but AVG has had a similar problem to this and created a simple tool that fixes the whole mess. Why hasn't ClamWin? I tried the AVG tool. It's just burned as an ISO to a disc and boots on it's own. However AVG would quarantine it's files elsewhere, so that does me no good. Every boot disc I try fails. Every homebrewed linux hack disc doesn't offer me any useful tools. Is there some other way?
Do I need to look up DOS language and try to instal the file that way? I'm so lost here.

Yes, I haven't had much luck with BART's PE, the Ultimate Boot Disk for Windows and a couple of more. They are a year or more older. BART fried my XP SP3 and I had to restore it--luckily I had made an ISO of SP3. Try the Linux distro Antonio recommended.
I have used the Dr. Web Live CD. It's a Rescue/Boot Disk. I've only used it to scan a PC, but I believe you can do other things with it also. It's got a GUI, and a command line, and you can also boot to your hard drive in Safe Mode. Here's a link: https://www.freedrweb.com/livecd on the web.

Hello ShaoLinR@73R,
Already had a try with gOS? I personally tried the procedure I described in previous post on my desktop, booted the computer from live CD and I was instantly able to access to C: drive and copy a .txt file inside. All ran without problems.
Also puppylinux runs as a live CD but access to HD is not as immediate as with gOS (you have to 'mount' the filesystem you want to write into; puppy has an option to mount such filesystem using the GUI).
Have a try and let us know how it has worked. In case I can post sojme screenshot of the procedure if it turns to be useful.
