Hello. I do not know how to get it to scan. I right click on a file and do not get an option to scan it using firefox. So what am I doing wrong? I just got clam today (6/27) and I looked in the preferences; but that was to no avail!

I do have a suggestion though.... allow remote scanning so that we do not even have to download the file.

clamwin dows not integrate with firefox right click menu. The Scan item in the right-click menu is only available in Windows Explorer.
Remote scanning would be cool but unfortunately is not possible entirely without downloading data.

do you pull the file onto the clam to scan it?

you need to download it to your computer, let's say "c:\downloads". Then open "c:\downloads" in Windows Explorer and right-click on the downloaded file and select "scan win clamwin"

but you said that right clicking wasn't available for firefox. I just re-read your post and you said to open it in explorer.

Right clicking on a file in Windows Vista doesn't show a choice to scan using ClamWin. Is there a way to get this?

Did you select integration with Windows Explorer when you installed ClamWin? I have to do that with Windows XP--I'll bet Vista is similar.

I reinstalled it and now it works with right click in Vista.
